2008年,复旦版《中国科技的基石——叶企孙和科学大师们》在初版八年后再版,依然受到读者欢迎,社会反响良好。笔者回忆了该书的出版过程以及责任编辑龚少明其中所做的艰辛努力,指出“发现力”是编辑的重要能力之一。发现好的选题,找到最合适的作者,辨别书稿的“可取”与“不可取”之处,从而经过编辑加工,创造出优胜于原稿的“成品”等,都需要编辑具有良好的发现力。
In 2008, the edition of Fudan, the cornerstone of China’s science and technology - Ye Qisun and the masters of science, was reprinted eight years after the first edition and was still welcomed by the readers.
