在“脚本转型”过程中,威尔第歌剧《奥赛罗》通过素材的删减重组,对莎士比亚戏剧原作《奥瑟罗》做出了结构调整,进而呈现出迅捷连贯的叙事特质,“响应着歌剧的自身需求”。较之于原作,歌剧的叙事主旨亦发生迁移,这种由种族主义转向宗教隐喻、重视“爱与死”的深切表达之题材特点,与19世纪欧洲文化政治话语及浪漫主义情感特质紧密相关。
