The Academic Planning Committee of Historical and Cultural Cities of China Urban Planning Society and the People’s Government of Ganzhou Municipality jointly held the Seminar on the Protection of Historical and Cultural Cities and the 1994 Annual Conference from November 15 to 18, 1994 in Shengzhou, Zhejiang Province. The conference was attended by members of the academic committee, invited experts, representatives of some historical and cultural cities, responsible comrades of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Construction and the Bureau of Cultural Relics, and leaders of Ganzhou City and comrades of relevant departments. An Yongyu, Chairman of the Academic Committee, made an opening statement to the conference.
