Among the pre-Qin philosophers, Chuang Tzu is the most attractive and one of the most difficult to understand. Like Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu likes to comprehend the subtlety and deepness of “Tao” from the water, but the methods of thinking between Lao and Zhuang are quite different. Lao Tzu talked about water mostly on the metaphysics of ontology and cosmology; Zhuang Tzu went after the rise of spiritual realm in the state of physical examination, and often used water as a carrier to weave strange myths and elucidate the true meaning of Taoism.
