学术自觉是马克思主义学科建设的根本要求,也是马克思主义理论学科建设取得成效的有力保证。但是长期以来,把马克思主义理论教育看作是纯粹的意识形态灌输,导致了马克思主义理论学科建设中的学术缺位现象。主要表现在:一是神话式的解读。把马克思主义理论(无论是一股原理还是根本原理)的正确性和科学性看作是无需经过论证的公式,只看到结论,而看不到形成结论的过程,导致真正的批判性的学术研究工作退场,甚至用崇拜、引证和迷信来代替探索、论证。二是标签式的解读。把马克思主义理论当作“万精油”式的标签到处肤浅粘贴和随意比附,从而不是去研究新情况、解决新问题本身,而是把马克思主义理论研究
