§5.0 Overview So far, we have discussed various major methods of modal analysis. Now, we will study how to use them to achieve the initial goal of establishing a mathematical model of the structure being tested. In reviewing the first few chapters of the book, it is not difficult to find that it is convenient to divide the mathematical models to be constructed into several categories and to study the different applications of these models. The content of this subject is quite extensive, and no single model can be applied to all situations. Therefore, the specific combination of test and analysis steps will vary depending on the application. We get the most important aspect of the modeling process: we start collecting and processing experimental data
