“The New Things in the New Media.” This phrase is the spell of the first version of HotWired. That was the fall of 1994. Netscape is about to package his first browser, Yahoo is still on the server at Stanford University, online roaming, 9,600bps is still a good speed. It’s been four years since we started working on our first web page in the attic in San Francisco. We learned a great deal about how to do it. It is natural to collect and critically evaluate our website design principles. As we continue to explore and explain our processes on Monkeys, we have also decided to make a printed statement. There is a book, HotWired Style-Principles for Building Smart Web Sites, that gathers together the accumulated knowledge of our designers and technicians. The following pages provide an introduction to the ideas and techniques in this book. It can be used as a Web site design based on the electronic declaration, or the founder of the state of art history. It is not a technical introduction to the web design process, nor is it a scholarly article written by lyory Tower. These collections are written for the monkeys - from system administrators to experienced designers. Very simple, these are the principles guiding us. If the crazy growth and indomitable changes of the Web teach us a lot of things, then we just know the fur. As we continue to explore, we constantly improve.
