本文第一部分指出汉藏语的选择问句有：“Ａ—ｐａｒｔ，Ｂ—ｐａｒｔ”和“Ａ—ｃｏｎｊ—Ｂ”两种类型，追溯了这两种选择问句的历史。认为前一种句式是选择问句的早期形式，后一种句式是选择问句发展到成熟阶段的产物。第二部分讨论了“Ａ—ｃｏｎｊ—Ｂ”句式中选择连词的来源，说明选择连词是由疑问词演变来的。第三部分考察了两种选择问句在汉藏语中的分布情况，指出汉藏语选择问句由“Ａ—ｐａｒｔ，Ｂ—ｐａｒｔ”向“Ａ—ｃｏｎｊ—Ｂ”的历史演变大体上表现为由南向北的地域性推移。
The first part of the article points out that the questions of choice in the Sino-Tibetan language are: “A-part, B-part” and “A-conj-B”, which traces the history of these two kinds of choice questions. That the former sentence is the early form of choice question, the latter sentence is the product of choice question development to the mature stage. The second part discusses the origin of the alternative conjunctions in the sentence “A-conj-B”, which shows that the alternative conjunctions are evolved from question words. The third part examines the distribution of the two kinds of choice questions in the Tibetan language, and points out that the historical evolution of the Chinese-Tibetan language from “A-part, B-part” to “A-conj-B” For the area from south to north.
