The recent discovery of the Texas file counterfeiting cast a shadow over the hearts of collectors in Texas, the United States. There are letters of “victory and death” by the Texas Declaration of Independence and Colonel William Barrett Travis in Alamo. Which led one collector to say: “In this case, I lost my grasp on every sheet of paper printed in Texas between 1820 and 1865, unless I could find the exact source of it twenty years ago.” To the collector and typographer Thomas Taylor, until 1972, there was no definitive owner yet.
