1929年制定的统一国际航空运输若干规则的公约因签订于华沙,习惯上简称为华沙公约。华沙公约经过多次修订。二战后,考虑到科学技术发展和旅客伤亡责任限制不尽完善等实际情况,1955年通过签订海牙议定书对公约进行了全面的修订,其后又通过作为华沙公约的补充案的1961年瓜达拉哈拉公约、1966年蒙特利尔议定书、1971年瓜地马拉议定书和1975年1-4号蒙物利尔附加议定书,对公约作了多次修订和补充,其中尤以1955年海牙议定书对公约进行的修订和补充最为重要,当前大多数国家都采用了这个经过修订的华沙公约。
The convention of 1929 establishing certain rules for the harmonization of international air transport was conventionally referred to as the Warsaw Convention for its signature in Warsaw. The Warsaw Pact has been amended several times.
