The middle party (later called the Democratic Party after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War) is an important part of the anti-Japanese national united front. Under the historical conditions that the ethnic conflicts between China and Japan were unprecedented and the outbreak of the anti-Japanese war broke out, the pro-central parties actively advocated resistance, democracy and unity and made important contributions to the cause of the motherland’s anti-Japanese and national salvation. However, because of the class and historical conditions, the middle parties have their own characteristics in comparison with the Chinese Communist Party in the struggle against the enemy. Correctly analyzing and evaluating the historical role and struggles of the middle parties in the anti-Japanese war has its great significance in consolidating and developing the multi-party cooperation under the leadership of the Communist Party and in promoting the cause of socialist modernization.
