Recently, an adjustable surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter was developed by Jianhun Zhu et al. At Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA. The device consists of 11 interdigital transducers paralleled in the surface wave propagation path. Different SAW filter structures can be implemented by selecting or combining different interdigital transducers to achieve the tunability of both the center frequency and 3dB bandwidth. example
