松茸是云南省主要的出口野生食用菌,菌盖半球形,后呈馒头形至平展开,直径6~20厘米,大者可达30厘米。该菌菇体肥大,肉质细嫩,香味浓郁,别具风味。云南松茸常分布于海拔1600~3200米的温带、寒温带的云南松、华山松与栎树、杜鹃等混交密林地带,多生于20℃~50℃山坡上,适生于中性并有深厚腐殖层的土壤中。松茸与云南松、华山松、栎树的须根发生共生关系,形成菌根,菌根体常形成菌塘。一般6~11月间出菇,8~9月为出菇旺季。目前,世界上松茸仍靠野生采集,日本等国虽然进行了很多研究,但由于松茸是一种内外生菌根的大型真菌,一直未能实现人工栽
