本期的话题,离不开’95世界妇女大会。 举世瞩目的第四次世界妇女大会9月在北京召开,届时将有180多个国家的政府代表团和2000多个非政府组织代表,近50000人云集北京。我国将有5000人参加非政府组织论坛活动。这次具有世界意义的盛会将研究世界妇女普遍关心的问题,积极寻求各国妇女发展与进步的途径,努力推进平等、发展、和平的进程。这次大会不仅是我国妇女界的大事,也是我国人民社会生活中的大事,它提供了一次世界认识中国和中国认识世界的难得的机遇。
This issue can not be separated from the ’95 World Conference on Women. The Fourth World Conference on Women, which has attracted worldwide attention, will be held in Beijing in September. There will be over 200 government delegations and more than 2,000 representatives of non-governmental organizations and nearly 50,000 people gathered in Beijing. There will be 5,000 people in our country participating in non-governmental organization forums. This event of global significance will study issues of universal concern to the world’s women and actively seek ways for women’s development and progress in all countries in an effort to promote the process of equality, development and peace. This conference is not only a major event for the women’s community in our country but also a major event in the social life of our people. It provides a rare opportunity for the world to recognize China and its understanding of the world.
