有客至,主人具1蔬菜,客不悦。主人谢2曰:“家贫市3远,不能得肉耳。”客曰:“请杀我所乘之骡而食之。”主人曰:“君何以归?”客指阶前之鸡曰:“我借君之鸡乘之而归。”(选自《明清小品选评》)【注释】1具:备办。2谢:道歉。3市:市场、集市。【今译】有客人来访,主人只准备了蔬菜(招待客人),客人不高兴。主人道歉说:“家里穷,集市又远,没有肉(招待您)。”客人说:“请把我骑来的骡子杀掉吃吧。”
