学术类期刊是有别于文艺类、通俗文化类和综合服务类期刊的一种“正统”期刊,较之其它期刊,它更注重科学性、创新性、知识性、规范性和实用性。它是普及和提高科技知识的园地,它发布科技研究的新成果和新动向,探讨本专业发展中遇到的问题及对策,传播科普知识。学术类期刊的特点决定了其对编辑的要求非同一般编辑:既要精通编辑业务、技术和方法,又须具备本学科较高的学识水平,达到编辑与学者的统一。作为学术类期刊的编辑,如何对待和把握专业论文,确实是一个很重要的话题,编辑有无慧眼识珠的本领,这不仅左右着稿件的命运,左右着刊物的水平,有时甚至影响到本学科创新和发展的进程。
