笔者所教的学校里99%的学生来自农村,而他们当中又有62%的父母外出打工,其余的也几乎全部住校成为事实上的留守儿童。为了了解这些留守学生学习英语的情况,我做了一份针对八年级留守儿童英语学习现状的问卷调查报告。此次调查问卷共发下200份,收回190份,对八年级的5个班进行了问卷调查,其中涉及了有关英语学习的28个问题。我校的八年级留守儿童大部分都已学了三至四年英语,可他们只有27%的学生对英语较感兴趣,而其余73%的学生则对英语不感兴趣;
About 99% of the students in the school I teach come from the countryside, while 62% of them work outside their hometown. Almost all of the remaining students live in schools to become de facto left-behind children. In order to understand the situation of these left-behind students studying English, I made a questionnaire survey on the current situation of English learning among left-behind children in eighth grade. A total of 200 questionnaires were sent out and 190 copies were returned. Questionnaires were conducted on five classes in the eighth grade, which involved 28 questions concerning English learning. Most of our eighth-grade left-behind children have studied English for three to four years, but only 27% of them are more interested in English while the remaining 73% are not interested in English.
