在毛主席“备战、备荒、为人民”的伟大号召下,乐清县南岸大队1971年在新围的海涂上试种成功了水稻、棉花等作物,大大鼓舞了干部和贫下中农加速利用海涂的信心和决心。他们发扬勇敢战斗,连续作战的作风,选用耐盐性较强的大麦等作物,又扩大了海涂的冬种利用,种植大麦150余亩。经过冬春奋战和精心培育,生长良好,获得了较好收成,据120亩产量统计,总产约2.4万余斤,平均亩产为200斤上下,最高的一丘2.18亩,亩产达329斤,为新围海涂加速利用改良开避了广阔的途径。现将大麦生产试验讨论如下:
