白花丹素Plumbagin是白花丹根PlumbagoZeylamcaLinn的提取、分离的有效成分，经药理筛选，具抗菌、抗病毒、抗农原作等作用。经研究配制了50μg／ml的眼药水，制定了药品暂行（内部）标准。按全国统一标准进行随机对照分组治疗，治疗沙眼共1984只眼，急性角膜炎、结膜炎111只眼，疗效显著。
Plumbagin is an effective ingredient for the extraction and separation of Plumbago ZeylamcaLinn. It has pharmacological screening, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-agricultural functions. After researching and formulating eye drops of 50 μg/ml, a temporary (internal) standard for drugs was formulated. Randomized controlled group therapy was performed according to the national uniform standard. A total of 1984 eyes were treated with trachoma, 111 eyes with acute keratitis and conjunctivitis, and the curative effect was significant.
