In this paper, the effects of ice temperature (0 ± 1 ℃) on the survival and development of eggs of Pseudocercus comstocki Kuwana were studied. The results showed that ice temperature not only caused certain lethal effect on eggs, but delayed their development. The longer the ice temperature was, the higher the egg mortality was and the lower the cumulative hatching rate was. However, the difference between adjacent treatments was not obvious after 14 days of treatment. The mortality rate increased to 51.6% and 66.2% at 21 and 28 days, Incubation rates decreased to 48.4% and 33.8%, respectively, with significant differences from other treatments. The average developmental stages of eggs at 37, 1, 42, 1, 28 days after ice-cold treatment were 26.343, 4.044, 2.334, 9.36 and 50.70 days, respectively, which lagged significantly in the absence of ice-cold treatment.
