测量石油及其制成品汽油、煤油、柴油等液体容器罐、井、筒的油面高度,多年来一直是困扰人们的大难题。因各种电子设备在现场使用有电的连接,易产生火花,存在着危险。其它一些方法,亦因误差大、抗干扰差,难以克服静电等而不能显身手,故一直沿用“套管尺”、“测探钢卷尺”等。光纤传输技术的发展,给燃油等液位测量带来了福音。光纤可以传递信号,没有火花、静电,且损耗极小。光纤耐腐蚀、抗电磁干扰,并能和电子装置、计算机很好兼容。KGY-5型光纤数显液位测控仪就是利用光纤特点制成的主要面向油田、油矿、炼油厂、石油公司的罐、井、筒油液位测量、控制的仪器,属国内最新产品。其它行业亦可应用。
