“剪影式”单色画从一个侧面体现了梅森瓷器早期装饰对“中国风”样式的浅层模仿和表现。这种亚风格的形成,是当时欧洲市场需求的反映,也是对东方异域风情的猎奇和艺术想象。赫洛特的背景与个人喜好,也对这种风格起到了重要的推动作用,并使梅森瓷器在单色画的表现空间,以及着色方案等方面呈现出独特之处。作为一种区别于东、西方瓷器装饰的过渡性风格,实为当时的装饰艺术手法处于摸索阶段的结果。
