It is said that there are 3 famous longevity areas in the world, they are Belcabamba of Ecuador, the Caucasus of the Soviet Union and Xinzha of Pakistan. By the end of October 1985, Morimoto Mori, president of the International Society of Natural Medicine, announced in Tokyo that it formally listed China’s Xinjiang as a longevity region in the world. One of the important reasons why Xinjiang was also declared as a longevity region of the world is its large number of centenarians. According to the statistics of the third national census in 1982, there were 3857 centenarians in our country, including 865 in Xinjiang, accounting for 22.40% of the total number of centenarians in the country. Calculated based on the average centenarians per million, the number of centenarians in the country is 3.83, with the highest number in Xinjiang being 66.1, followed by Tibet with 24.3, Qinghai with 12.8 and Guangxi with 11.1.
