现代城市雕塑是指现代城市中设置在室外公共环境中供大众观赏的雕塑艺术作品。就现代城市雕塑概念而言,它由“现代”、“城市”、“雕塑”三方面的内容构成,其中“雕塑”是主慨念,前两者则是对主概念做双重特定条件的限定,整体上是一个多层复合的综合概念。同理,要研究现代城市雕塑品格,就要从时间——现代、空间——城市的双重条件及其复合结构中来定位雕塑艺术,通过逐一分析来探讨
Modern city sculpture refers to the sculpture works of art which are set for public viewing in the open air in modern cities.
