从出生到6岁,是人生的早期阶段。在这个阶段,儿童的身体发育和心理发展都非常迅速。相同年龄儿童的共同特点相当明显。研究和了解这些共同特点,可以使我们掌握儿童成长的客观规律,帮助我们判断自己的教育对象发展是否正常,以便在教育上因势利导,避免拔苗助长。陈帼眉同志写的《0—6岁儿童的年龄特点和教育》一文,按儿童年龄阶段分述了他们的生理、心理特点,相应地提出了在教育上应该注意的一些问题。全文虽然较长,但写得深入浅出,明白易懂,而且举有生动的例子,读来毫不费力,是适合幼教工作者和幼儿家长学习的好文章。为了适应当前幼儿园教育和家庭教育的需要,先将“学前期(即3—6岁)儿童的年龄特点和教育”部分,分三期予以刊载。我们在研究相同年龄儿童的共同特点时,还应看到儿童之间的个别差异。能力的发展在一定的幅度上有先后,性格的发展更有个人的特点。所以,教育儿童还应注意因材施教。这虽然不是这篇文章论述的范围,但应请读者注意。
