Objective: To investigate the changes and significance of plasma levels of interleukin (IL) -35, IL-10 and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods: A total of 98 consecutive CHD patients were enrolled. Among them, 30 were in SAP group, 40 in UAP group and 28 in AMI group. Thirty-three patients with normal chest pain syndrome (CPS) underwent coronary angiography at the same period. Serum IL-35, IL-10 and TGF-β1 concentrations were measured by sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Compared with CPS group, the levels of IL-35, IL-10 and TGF-β1 in CHD group were significantly lower than those in CPS group, and the levels in UAP group and AMI group were significantly lower than those in SAP group. Conclusion: The plasma level of IL-35, IL-10 and TGF-β1 in CHD patients decreased, suggesting that the lack of anti-inflammatory activity plays an important role in the pathogenesis of CHD.
