轮船招商局,简称招商局,1872年创立,是中国第一家近代轮船航运公司,也是洋务运动中创建的最早一家民用性的和官督商办的企业.1872年,李鸿章奏请清政府批准,拨直隶练饷局制钱二十万串(按时价折合白银十三万三千两左右)为商本,派从事沙船业的富商朱其昂、朱其诏兄弟(上海宝山人),在上海设局招集商股,计招得银四十七万六千两,于12月份正式开业,定名轮船招商公局,局址设在上海洋泾浜永安街.当年共有轮船伊敦、永靖、福星、利运、和众、海镜等六条,除从事客运业务外,还包揽政府的漕运和其他官物的运输.1873年,李鸿章派买办唐廷枢(广东香山人)
