1862年由清政府创办的京师同文馆是我国近代最早的一所洋务外国语学堂。它的创办,标志着我国近代外语教育,特别是英语教育的正式开始。其教学模式对现代的英语教育仍有许多值得借鉴之处。本文主要介绍洋务学堂外语教育的时代背景、创办过程、外语课程设置,教材以及考试等情况。梳理我国外语教育的发展史,总结得失,为当今外语教育的发展寻求有益的启示。
Founded in 1862 by the Qing government, the Tongshi Tongwen is one of the earliest Western foreign affairs schools in modern China. Its founding marks the official start of modern foreign language education in our country, especially English education. Its teaching mode still has a lot to learn from modern English education. This article mainly introduces the background of the foreign language education in the Westernization School, the founding process, the foreign language curriculum, teaching materials and examinations. Combing the history of the development of foreign language education in our country, summarizing the gains and losses, and seeking useful enlightenment for the development of foreign language education today.
