In early December 1950, the People’s Volunteers Logistics Department of China organized the second batch of working groups led by Comrade Zhang Pingkai, deputy political commissar and director of the Political Department, to check with North Korea’s frontline about logistics support. On December 12, he arrived in Ji’an (now Ji’an) and divided into three groups. The task force assigned to me was to understand the logistics supply and security of the east Changjinhu Campaign, the existing problems and lessons learned.
