佛顶山国家级自然保护区位于石阡县西南部,有着“天然氧吧、养生福地”美称。2009年被评选为“中国十大非著名山峰”、2013年被列为全省十大旅游景区之一。佛顶山峰峰相连、直插云霄,地质景观十分奇特。终年云雾缭绕、气象万千,宛如人间仙境;溪流交错、峡谷幽深、瀑布高悬,原始森林景观十分秀美,仿佛世外桃源。野生动植物资源十分丰富,列入国家一二级重点保护植物有珙桐、鹅掌楸、香果树、伯乐数等16种;列入国家一二级重点保护野生动物有林麝、穿山甲、苏门羚、大灵猫等32种。在佛顶山周边居住的仡佬族是一个可以追溯到先秦时期的一个古老民族,民风古朴,文化
