On May 20, 2006, the Liuqin Opera was approved by the State Council to be included in the first list of state-level intangible cultural heritage collections. However, the trend of “falling out of favor” has not changed and the inheritance and development of Liuqin opera has come to a dilemma. This article will examine in depth the ecological status quo of Xuzhou Liuqin opera and probe into the feasible ways of protection and inheritance.
