这次展览是建国以来革命历史画的大型检阅,代表性的作品都有了。历史画很难画,画历史画在过去是当作政治任务,现在年轻的美术工作者不太重视或缺乏这方面的能力。这个展览对我们的美术创作提出新的任务,现时期的革命历史画怎么搞?我有一个想法,现在搞革命历史画以恢复历史的面貌为主还是通过历史题材的美术作品来高扬革命精神教育后人为主,我觉得两个任务是不同的,各有侧重。
