城市作为人类活动的重要载体,是碳排放的主要来源。联合国人类住区规划署《2011年全球人类住区报告:城市与气候变化》指出,城市是全球环境污染的最主要来源,所排放的温室气体占到总量的70%左右,建设低碳城市是实现可持续发展的必然选择。峰会上,北京、洛杉矶等14个中美城市(省、州)的政府领导就推动城市绿色低碳发展的进展、成效和经验做了主题发言。
As an important carrier of human activities, cities are the main sources of carbon emissions. The United Nations Human Settlements Program’s Global Report on Human Settlements 2011: Cities and Climate Change states that cities are the leading source of global environmental pollution and contribute about 70% of the total greenhouse gas emissions, building low-carbon cities It is an inevitable choice to achieve sustainable development. At the summit, government leaders from 14 Central American cities (provinces and cities) such as Beijing and Los Angeles made keynote speeches on the progress, achievements and experiences in promoting urban green low-carbon development.
