猪,在十二生肖中排行最末。猪在中国的史前文化中占有比较重要的位置。许多考古发现证明,猪在我国原始畜牧业中有着非常重要的地位,为六畜之首。在汉字中,我们也可以看到很多“猪”影子,如“家”“冢”“豕”等。猪本身的形象在古人看来是生命力旺盛的标志。在一些祭祀中,如祈年祭上,猪是重要的祭祀物品。猪有着厚道、忠诚、老实的象征意义。关于猪的成语有“猪狗不如”“狼奔豕突”“豕亥鱼鲁”等。
