本省各级法院在各级党政领导机关的领导下,由于全体司法干部的努力,在法制建设和审判刑、民案件上一九五四年做了不少工作,从而对国家的社会主义建设和社会主义改造事业起了一定的作用。一九五四年全省共收初审案四八、四四四件(缺安塞、雒南、镇坪十二月份的数字),占一九五三年收案数的百分之七十二强。其中:民事案二八、一四八件,占五三年的百分之五十九。婚姻案下降百分之四十三,土地案下降百分之四十,债务、继承、公私纠纷、劳资纠纷等类案件也有不同程度的下降。这些案件下降的主要原因:首先是婚姻法的贯彻宣传日渐深入人心,总路线的宣传教育提高了群众的政治觉悟;其次是调解工作的普遍开展和法院接待室均已设立,解决了许多简易纠纷,未使成讼。刑事案二○、二九六件,等于一九五三年的百分之一百零九。其中反革命案下降百分之七十,破坏经济建设案则达二、八四三
