2006年,阿左旗坚持以科学发展观为指导,深入实施集中发展战略,致力于发展这个第一要务,保持了经济社会持续,快速、协调发展的良好态势。财政收入完成62203万元,同比增长43．94%;城镇居民可支配收入和农牧民人均纯收入分别达到10222元和4003元,同比增长15%和13．3%;三次产业结构调整为4．8:1．1:4．1。预计全旗实现生产总值58亿元,可比增长26．1%,全社会固定资产投资完成65亿元,同比增长44．9%;旗域综合经济实力跃居西部百强县第38位。
