马克思·帕维尔教授(1866—1945)是德国著名的钢琴家和教师。曾任科隆音乐学院和斯图加特音乐学院的教授,又担任过斯图加特音乐学院和著名的莱比锡音乐学院的院长。他极为重视对学生在音乐上广博知识和听觉的训练。作为钢琴家,帕维尔教授的威望是极为崇高的。在这篇文章中,他尖锐地批评了千篇一律、墨守成规的教学法,又提出了我们今天所重视的“直观教学”等的重要性,对我们今天的钢琴教学(不仅是钢琴,对一些表演艺术)都很有参考价值。
