邓小平同志,在其谈话及著作当中,包含着丰富的社会保障思想内容。在他主持党和政府工作期间,紧紧抓住社会主义本质这一核心,重视做好社会保障工作,也关注对社会保障问题的研究。本文对邓小平重视社会保障的原因进行论述,从为体现社会主义制度优越性、为人民服务这一党的宗旨、为改善人民生活以及从为服务社会主义经济、稳定社会和解决诸多现实矛盾等需要为出发点,探析邓小平重视社会保障的原因。
