我国有56个民族,民族自治地区的面积占全国国土面积的64%。民族教育作为我国国民教育的重要组成部分,对于少数民族文化的传承与发展以及地区经济的发展、国家的稳定和各民族的共同繁荣都有着重要的作用。20世纪60年代以后,随着西方社会民族复兴运动的兴起和少数民族文化的活跃,文化多元化不仅受到越来越广泛的关注,而且呈现出一种势不可挡的趋势。这一时代背景,既对我国民族教育的发展提出了新的要求,同时也为解决我国民族教育长期存在的问题提供了理论参考。跨文化研究的焦点就在于:挖掘不同民族文化中的宝贵资源,探索不同文化传统
