The International Symposium on Financial Measures for Transforming the Operating Mechanism of State-owned Enterprises jointly sponsored by the United Nations Development Program and the Finance and Taxation System Reform Department of the Ministry of Finance and the Foreign Affairs Bureau was held in Urumqi, Xinjiang from June 26 to June 14, 1992. Foreign experts invited to participate in the seminar include: Japanese expert, Kobayashi Shi, consultant of Industrial Bank, World Bank expert, Senior Business Commissioner Mr. Fanke, British expert, Director of Modern Chinese Research Center of Oxford University Mr. Lin Zhiren, Canadian expert, Mr. Rodney Burres, First Secretary and Consul for Embassy of China to China, and five experts, including Australian experts and Mr. Roger Brik, Assistant to the Chief of the Labor and Welfare Information Office of the Australian Ministry of Finance;
