黄金鲈,是美国最著名的鲈鱼,广泛分布于美国中、北部地区。1997年引入我国,该种鱼属于温、冷水性淡水鱼类,对水质和温度有广泛的适应性,当氧气下降到3.8mg/升,表现出高度的适应性和忍耐性,适合其生存的pH值范围为6.5~8.5,生长适温1℃~38℃,喜早、晚摄食,具有常年摄食的习性,是开展冬钓的好品种。黄金鲈肉质鲜嫩,营养价值高。粗蛋白含量为18.3%,高于我国的“四大家鱼”、鲫鱼、黄颡鱼、鲤鱼等。
