近年来,北京的环境建设得到了人们的普遍关注,为了美化首都环境,争办2008年奥运会。3月30日,建设部近100名机关干部在赵宝江副部长的带领下,来到北京西郊植物园进行义务植树。经过近三个小时的努力,一百多棵松柏、银杏矗立在原本荒芜的植物园西北角。建设部副部长赵宝江,城市建设司司长杨鲁豫、办公厅副主任兼部机关服务中心主任李东序等领导向北京市园林局及北京植物园负责人了解了植物园的建设
