韩国《中央日报》最近发表文章,对在上海举行的翻译资格考试中考生的汉语水平提出质疑,指其对一些古代名言的翻译“令人心寒”,并在文章的结尾处提醒韩国人“回头看看我国是否也在上演着与中国类似的一幕”。以一个翻译考试中考生的表现来指代全体中国人的汉语水平,难免以偏概全, 然而中国人总体上汉语水平与汉语文化宗主国地位不尽相称,也是不争的事实。
The Central Daily News of South Korea recently published an article questioning the candidates’ Chinese proficiency in the Translation Qualifying Examination in Shanghai, referring to the “chilling” translation of some ancient famous quotes and reminding Koreans “at the end of the article See if our country is staging a similar scene with China. ” It is inevitable that the Chinese proficiency of all Chinese as a candidate in a translation test can not be generalized. However, it is an indisputable fact that Chinese generally have an unmatched proficiency in Chinese as a sovereign state of Chinese culture.
