There are two sets of dolomites in the bottom of the Huanglong Formation of the Carboniferous in the southern part of Jiangsu Province. The first dolomite is between the Huanglong Formation and the Hezhou Formation in the Ningzhen area and the second is the dolomite between the Huanglong Formation and the Gao Lishan Formation in the Yixing and Liyang areas. Many people attributed these two dolomites to the bottom of the Huanglong Formation, both of which were in the early Middle Carboniferous. Since Xia Bangdong (1959) proposed “tiger cave dolomite”, Chen Minjuan and Huang Jianhui, Nanjing Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources, Jiangsu Province and other teams have studied these two sets of dolomites and put forward their own views. Chen Minjuan and Huang Jianhui (1962) claimed the dolomite in Ningzhen area as the Tiger Cave Group, which was dated to the early Weihexian WeiXian period. Recently, they once again demonstrate the age of the Tiger Cave Group and believe that the age of the dolomites in the Yixing and Liyang areas should be later than the age of the Laoyudong Formation dolomite. Chen et al. (1979) identified the dolomite in the Ningzhen area as the Hezhou Formation (generalized)
