《十二楼》中婚恋小说集中反映了李渔的婚姻爱情观,既歌颂了青年男女争取婚姻自由的斗争精神,更体现出个体的自我意识和情感解放,表露出比较进步的思想观念。在创作方面跳出了同时代才子佳人小说的窠臼,有一定新意。但囿于时代思想局限,存在一些不足之处。
