黄岩岛外形好似一个等腰直角三角形,最大的礁石也只有5平方米左右,整座岛屿露出水面的部分非常少。黄岩岛每年最美丽的季节是在4月、5月和10月、11月,风平浪静的海水清澈、浅蓝、透明,水底彩色珊瑚在明朗的阳光下清晰可见,突起的礁盘四周形成了一道看不见的环形水下屏障。海水冲击向上翻腾,拍出一线绵延10公里的白浪,十分美丽。
