In 1585 European literature appeared in the concept of ethnic geography China proper (China headquarters); due to the influence of Chinese Yi order, the Japanese literature in the Edo period has been no ethnic geography; the same period in Japanese call China The usage is increasing, and the meaning is gradually changing. In the Meiji Restoration, influenced by western documents, there are interpretations such as the branch office in Japan. Japanese scholars gradually disseminate related concepts and classification systems, and convert the previously held view of order of Hua Yi to continue constructing At the same time of Japanese centralism, it reclassified all parts of China and gradually highlighted the notion that the “branch office” is the “branch”. This is exploited by Japan’s expansionists and has become its guiding concept of splitting China. The concept of “branch office” does not accord with Chinese history and reality, so Chinese scholars criticize, reform or abandon the concept.
