东风汽车公司为扩大发展规模于1982年在三国古城襄樊市兴建了一座现代化汽车工业基地(以下简称“基地”)。这里不仅拥有中美合资生产的康明斯发动机厂、中法合资的神龙轿车机加工厂、国内最大规模的轻型车厂、亚洲最大的汽车试验场,而且拥有完善的水煤电供应及生活后勤配套设施,占地534公顷,固定资产达13亿,年产值20亿元,职工家属达1万余人。
In order to expand the scale of development, Dongfeng Motor Company built a modern automotive industry base (hereinafter referred to as “base”) in Xiangfan City of the Three Kingdoms City in 1982. The company not only owns the Cummins Engine Plant jointly invested by China and the United States, the Sino-French joint venture Shenlong sedan processing plant, the largest light-duty depot in China, and the largest automobile testing ground in Asia, but also has complete water and coal power supply and life logistics supporting facilities. It covers an area of 534 hectares, with fixed assets of 1.3 billion, an annual output value of 2 billion yuan, and more than 10,000 employees’ family members.
