According to the analysis of 16 sets of English test papers in the 2006 college entrance examination and 3 sets of national papers of the same year, it is found that the length of reading comprehension questions in provincial papers is generally higher than that of national papers, and the reading tasks of different lengths in provincial and national volumes are not always reasonable. The distribution of reading questions of different lengths is not in line with the level of regional education. The number of words that need to be processed by each candidate in the province is mostly higher than the national volume. Therefore, for provinces and cities with propositional powers, students should be given a room for improvement in their length in terms of their English reading tests.
