按照迪尔凯姆和马克思的分层原则,19~20世纪的上海娼妓应属于同一阶层,但是上海娼妓内部存在着森严的等级制度。通过分析不同等级的娼妓在地域分布、住所和消费价格上的差异,足以解释嫖客在社会空间、代理消费和消费能力上的差异和嫖客内部存在着消费分层。娼妓作为一种消费品,其内部的分层根源于消费者的社会分层,是消费社会的体现。
According to the principle of stratification by Durkheim and Marx, Shanghai prostitutes should belong to the same class from the 19th to the 20th centuries, but there is a strict hierarchy within the Shanghai prostitutes. By analyzing the differences in geographical distribution, domicile and consumer price of different levels of prostitutes, it is enough to explain the difference of clients in the social space, agency consumption and spending power and the consumer stratification inside the clients. As a kind of consumer goods, the internal stratification of prostitute rooted in the social stratification of consumers is the embodiment of consumer society.
